New prosecutor's office brings up to UAH 150 mln to budget every day - president

He said this at the Prosecutor General's Office during a ceremony marking the Day of Employees of Procurator's Office, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"In general, the economic effect of the work of the Prosecutor General's Office exceeds 53 billion hryvnias. If we take these results for the year and divide by days, we can say that the new prosecutor's office brings up to 150 million hryvnias to the state budget every day. I am ready to enter into a discussion with critics who can find any other prosecutor's office in the world with such a high efficiency factor," Poroshenko said.

He added that only the firm position of the Prosecutor General's Office and law enforcement bodies involved in the process had helped, in a completely legal way of investigating complex cases, confiscate funds stolen in the time of the previous government - UAH 44 billion.

"Both rural clinics, telemedicine and military barracks, the construction of an ammunition production plant, and road construction, and many other things became possible thanks to the financing of your selfless work, because the funds for these and other projects came to the budget through the prosecutor's office," the president said.

Poroshenko expressed gratitude for such successful work of the prosecutor's office.
