PM Groysman: 5% of funds allocated for road repairs to be spent on traffic safety

Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said that 5% of the funds allocated for road repairs and modernization would be spent on road traffic safety.

"We will invest 5% of the funds, which we spend on reconstruction and modernization of roads, on road traffic safety," Groysman said at a government meeting, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The prime minister also stressed that at present the situation on the Ukrainian roads is extremely difficult because of violations of traffic rules and regulations.

"Eight people are killed, 92 people are injured in road accidents every day, thousands are killed and tens of thousands are injured every year," he said.

Groysman also stressed that responsibility for traffic violations should be strengthened.
