Ukraine plans to join Batumi Initiative on Green Economy

Ukraine announced its intention to join the Batumi Initiative on Green Economy.

Deputy Ecology and Natural Resources Minister of Ukraine Mykola Kuzyo said this at a press conference, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Ukraine has announced its intention to join the Batumi Initiative on Green Economy within the framework of cooperation with our international partners," he said.

According to him, this initiative provides for the implementation of the relevant activities at the state level which are aimed at developing of the green economy to achieve the environment friendly economic growth and contribute to the preservation of the environment.

Kuzyo noted that the Batumi Initiative is a pan-European project that was launched last year. A total of 25 countries and 13 international organizations have already joined the initiative, which includes 117 commitments.
