Ukraine’s international reserves grew to $18.7 bln

As of November1, 2017, Ukraine’s international reserves amounted to USD 18.736 billion (in equivalent), according to preliminary data. The reserves grew by USD 98 million, or 0.5%, over the previous month, the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) reports. 

“Ukraine’s international reserves as of November 1, 2017 amounted to USD 18,735.8 billion (in equivalent), according to preliminary data. Accordingly, the reserves for the third consecutive month update the maximum since the beginning of 2014. Currently the reserves are 21% higher compared with the beginning of this year. In particular, the reserves grew by USD 98 million, or 0.5%, over October,” reads the report.

The NBU noted that the international reserves growth over the previous month was determined by the following factors: USD 185.3 million was received by the Government, including USD170.3 million through the issuance of domestic government bonds denominated in foreign currency, and the funds raised from a swap operation with an authorized bank in the domestic market for the sum of USD100.0 million.
