In January-September 2017, the state enterprise “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” (USPA) saw UAH 5.6 million in net revenue, which is almost 5% higher compared with the same period last year.

"In January-September 2017, the USPA provided UAH 2.7 billion in net income. At the same time, the company paid UAH 3.6 billion in the interests of the state, which is 64% of the income received," Head of the USPA Raivis Veckagans has said.

In addition, the amount of profit taxes paid by state-owned enterprises totaled almost UAH 523 million, and dividends – UAH 2.1 billion.

“The positive financial result of USPA means an opportunity to implement needed infrastructure projects. This year, the lion's share of funds is directed to dredging operations- in Yuzhnyi and Chornomorsk. Another important issue is the construction and reconstruction of port infrastructure, in particular in the ports of Odesa and Mykolaiv, as well as the purchase of a dredging fleet. Thus, the funds are not accumulated on the accounts, but are reinvested in the development of the industry,” Veckagans said.
