The draft law on privatization of state property could be submitted for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada on November 9, 2017, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv has reported on Facebook.

"Privatization is an effective tool for attracting real investment into Ukraine. However, the legislation is too complicated and does not contribute to quick and effective privatization. This will be changed by government bill No. 7066, which has already been included in the preliminary parliament agenda for Thursday, November 9," he wrote.

According to him, the bill is aimed at simplifying the conditions for privatization and introducing transparent mechanisms for attracting investors and better mechanisms for determining the price of sales.

"Such an important initiative needs support from people's deputies, because transparent and honest sale of state property helps overcome corruption at state enterprises, promotes regional development, and creates new jobs. More effective enterprises are additional revenues to the budget, which the government will spend on better conditions for citizens' lives," Kubiv said.
