Ecology Minister Semerak: Waste management strategy soon be adopted in Ukraine

The government committee has approved the draft Waste Management Strategy of Ukraine, and the Cabinet of Ministers may adopt the document already at the upcoming government meetings.
Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine Ostap Semerak wrote this on Facebook.
"The government committee approved our draft document this week. We expect it to be adopted at the upcoming government meetings. Afterwards, we need the adoption of the necessary legislation (not vice versa) for new waste management approaches and real instructions and economic models (action plans) how to act at the local levels," Semerak wrote.
According to him, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine elaborated the draft strategy in cooperation with the EBRD, GIZ, business associations and other related agencies.
