Energoatom to cooperate with Toshiba in nuclear power plant modernization

"Energoatom and Japanese Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corporation signed the memorandum of understanding in the nuclear power industry to develop cooperation in modernization of turbine island equipment of Ukraine's nuclear power plants," the statement reads.

The document covers cooperation between the two companies in the issues of increasing capacities, efficiency and safety of NPP power units by upgrading the turbine island equipment.

"Energoatom welcomes the start of cooperation with the world's leading nuclear power corporation – Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corporation. We are convinced that our joint work will not only help to increase the capacities of turbine island equipment of Ukrainian NPPs but will also give an additional impetus to the development of domestic technologies for nuclear power plants," Energoatom President Yury Nedashkovsky said during the signing ceremony.
