No grounds to increase utility tariffs - PM

Local authorities should do everything they can to prevent an increase in tariffs for utility services, as there are no real grounds for that, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said.

He stated this at a government meeting on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"I do not see any reason to raise tariffs in the regions for heat, hot water, etc. I believe that this is the responsibility of local authorities to prevent overconsumption, extravagance, which can lead to higher tariffs," Groysman said.

He expects that everyone in the country will have a responsible attitude to this and will be very restrained in adjusting tariffs.
