Deposit Guarantee Fund sold insolvent banks’ assets worth UAH 6 bln

Since the beginning of the crisis in Ukraine’s banking sector, the Deposit Guarantee Fund has sold insolvent banks’ assets for the sum of UAH 6 billion.

Deputy Managing Director of the Deposit Guarantee Fund, Svitlana Rekrut, stated this at a press conference at Ukrinform.

“Since the start of the crisis, the Deposit Guarantee Fund has sold assets for the sum of about UAH 6 billion," Rekrut said.

She noted that at present the Deposit Guarantee Fund manages 93 banks.

"A total of 93 banks for us mean UAH 500 billion in assets at their balance value, which were estimated at UAH 102 billion by appraisers at the moment of insolvency," Rekrut said.
