The road fund will start to work in Ukraine next year. It will accumulate UAH 40 billion (about $153 million).
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said this after the meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Pavel Filip in Odesa, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"Next year we launch the Road Fund – a new instrument to finance structural repairs and road restoration – which will accumulate more than UAH 40 billion," Groysman said.
The Prime Minister has repeatedly stated that Ukraine will establish a road fund which will be financed by tax and fees payments.
In March 2016, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on the establishment of the State Road Fund for financing the repair and construction of the country's highways.
