The minimum wage increase to UAH 3,200 contributed an additional income of UAH 11 billion to the Pension Fund.

President Petro Poroshenko stated this in the Verkhovna Rada in his annual address on the internal and external situation of the country, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“At the beginning of this year, it was decided to increase the minimum wage to UAH 3,200. Do you remember how much criticism it raised? It fully justified itself by an increase in legal wage figures and an increase in revenues by additional [UAH] 11 billion to the Pension Fund," Poroshenko said.

He also recalled that salaries for teachers and doctors were also raised in the current year.
