Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko has said the defined contribution pension system may be launched in Ukraine on January 1, 2019.

In a post on his Facebook page, he wrote: “From January 1, 2019, the second level of pension insurance – the defined contribution pension system will start operating! There is a chance for this. What I'm talking about and trying to achieve during these last 10 years can finally be implemented”.

According to him, the Verkhovna Rada committee on social policy, employment and pension supported the corresponding proposal of MPs during the development of pension reform for the second reading.

"This decision should be approved by the Verkhovna Rada. Ukrainians have a chance to receive worthy pensions!" the vice prime minister stressed.
