Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said that there are enough funds in the national budget to carry out the first level of pension reform from October 1.

“The Ukrainian government has accumulated enough resources so that to start implementing this reform on October 1,” Groysman said on September 5 at a roundtable meeting dedicated to the issues of pension reform, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He clarified that if Parliament approves the corresponding law on October 1, then the first level of pension reform will be carried out and a 15 % pension tax for working pensioners will be canceled.

The prime minister also called on MPs to vote for the reform and added that the parliament’s relevant committee will consider the draft pension reform at its meeting in the next few days.
