The Bloc of Petro Poroshenko (BPP) faction in parliament has called on the government to increase the minimum wage in Ukraine to UAH 4,000 (about $150).

The chairman of the BPP faction, Artur Herasymov, said this at a meeting of the parliament's conciliatory council on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"We are appealing to the government regarding a further increase in the minimum wage to UAH 4,000," he said.

The minimum wage in Ukraine now stands at UAH 3,200.
