Russian gas transit rises to a record level in last six years – Ukrtransgaz

January-July 2017, Russian gas transit amounted to 52.3 billion cubic meters, which is 22.8% more than over the same period last year and the largest volume in last six years.

"Russian gas transit grew by 22.8% to a record level of 52.3 billion cubic meters for the last six years. The gas imports from Russia have been zero for 613 days already," Ukraine's gas transmission system operator stresses.

At the same time, the gas imports from European countries increased 2.4 times compared to last year and have amounted to 8.1 billion cubic meters as of August 1. In addition, the domestic gas production grew by 2.7% and reached the level of 12 billion cubic meters for seven months of this year.
