Number of air passengers will grow to 20 mln per year in four years - Omelian

Within four years, a number of Ukrainians traveling by plane should grow to 20 million per year.
Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelian said this in an interview with OstContakt (the leading German-language business magazine), the press service of the Infrastructure Ministry reports.
"Our strategy envisages that within four years the number of air passengers will increase from 8 to 20 million people per year," the minister said.
According to him, now 4-5% out of 43 million Ukrainians travel by plane. According to expectations, this percentage should grow to 15-20%.
"I think that the government measures to reduce airport charges will provide attractive prices for air tickets, which will lead to an increase in air passengers among Ukrainians," the official said.
