During the first five months of 2017, Ukraine's exports to the Republic of Belarus increased by 45% compared to the same period in 2016.

President of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hennady Chizhykov said this at the Ukrainian-Belarusian Business Forum, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Currently, we have good indicators of bilateral trade, although we still have not reached the record of 2012. The dynamics are positive. During the first five months of 2017, Ukraine's exports to the Republic of Belarus increased by 45% compared to the same period in 2016. The imports have also grown," Chizhykov said.

According to him, Ukrainian and Belarusian enterprises can cooperate within the framework of increasing exports to the European countries. After all, according to the trade preferences the European Union provides to Ukraine today, up to 70% of raw materials and components imported from Ukraine can be supplied from another country, and this could be Belarus.
