In 2016, Ukrainian exporters faced losses of $1 billion after Russia announced a trade embargo.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stated this during the Ukraine-Georgia investment forum in Batumi on July 19, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

At the same time, President Poroshenko stressed that Ukraine started to overcome these challenges. In particular, the country managed to "tame" inflation, as well as to increase the NBU's god and currency reserves from 5 billion to 18.5 billion, and "purify" the banking system.
