President Poroshenko met with President of Japan International Cooperation Agency

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has held a meeting with President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Shinichi Kitaoka, who is on the first visit to Ukraine in the history of relations.

This has been reported by the president’s press service.

“The Head of State expressed gratitude to the Government of Japan for the large-scale financial and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine aimed to support reforms and democratic institutions, facilitate economic development and restore the regions of Donbas ruined by war,” reads the report.

Also, the parties discussed the intensification of bilateral cooperation on the implementation of large-scale projects in Ukraine in the sphere of energy security, infrastructure development and environmental protection with involvement of Japanese investors.

The issue to expand trade-economic and investment cooperation between Ukraine and Japan was also discussed.
