PM Groysman: Process of redistributing rent payments to local budgets to begin in 2018

The process of redistributing a part of rent payments to the budgets of regions where minerals are extracted will begin in 2018.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman stated this during Government Question Hour meeting held in the Verkhovna Rada on Friday, May 26, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“A part of the rent should remain in the territory where the minerals are extracted. This is right and logical approach related to the decentralization and financial bases of local government. The year 2018 has been determined as the year of beginning of such redistribution,” he said.
Groysman also denied reports that the Cabinet of Ministers could abolish the procedure of redistributing a part of such rent payments to local budgets.
