Average wage of coal miners 25% higher than the wage of those working in industry

In January-March 2017, the average wage of Ukrainians working in the mining and quarrying sector totaled UAH 8,533, which is by 24.7% more than the average wage of those employed in the industrial sector.

This is the data released by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

In particular, in January-March 2017, the average wage of Ukrainians working in the industrial sector amounted to UAH 6,844.

At the same time, Ukrainians working in the mining and quarrying sector over the same period received UAH 8,533. The average wage of mine workers that extract black and brown coal totaled UAH 8,332.
