Ukraine, Netherlands sign joint action plan for agrarian development

The Ukrainian Agrarian Policy Ministry and the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs on April 24 signed an action plan for 2017-2018 in the agrarian sector. 

“The implementation of this bilateral action plan will be carried out in the scope of joint projects,” Ukrainian Deputy Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Olha Trofimtseva stated, the ministry’s press service reports.

According to her, the main areas of cooperation will be the development of family farms (livestock and potato farming), the improvement of the Ukrainian legislation in the sphere of veterinary and phytosanitary, the scientific and educational direction and the development of the processed food production.

In 2016, the commodity turnover of agricultural products between Ukraine and the Netherlands grew by $182.89 million, compared with 2015, and totaled $862.863 million.
