Infrastructure Ministry: China Railway may produce locomotives jointly with Ukrzaliznytsia plants

The Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine says that China Railway is considering the issue on the production of locomotives in Ukraine.
Deputy Infrastructure Ministry for European Integration Viktor Dovhan stated this at the Chinese-Ukrainian business forum on April 25, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"Ukrzaliznytsia and the Infrastructure Ministry are holding talks on the modernization of locomotive traction, electric [traction]. We hope that China Railway will consider the possibility of transferring its production to the territory of Ukraine and joint production of locomotives with the plants of Ukrzaliznytsia,” the deputy minister said.
He also noted that the talks are under way regarding the electrification of the northern direction "Zhytomyr - the state border with Belarus”.
