In January-February minimum wage grew by 36%, real one by 20% at annual rate - NBU

In January-February of 2017, the minimum average wage grew by 36%, and the real one - by 20% on a year-on-year basis.

Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeriya Gontareva said this at a press conference, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"Based on the results of the first quarter, we did not see a significant increase in consumption as a result of raising the minimum wage to UAH 3,200 since the beginning of the year. This step of the government accelerated the average wage growth. In January-February, the minimum average salary grew by 36%, and the real one - by 20% on an annual basis," Gontareva said.

As known, the minimum wage increased UAH 3,200 from January 1, 2017.
