NBU: Ukraine’s gross external debt cut by $5.2 bln

As of January 1, 2017, Ukraine’s gross external debt was $113.483 billion, which is $5.2 billion lower in contrast to the figure recorded on January 1, 2016, the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) reports.

In the fourth quarter of 2016, Ukraine’s gross external debt reduced by $2.532 billion, from $116.015 billion to $113.483 billion.

According to the data released by the NBU, the central bank’s debt reduced by 3.7% in the fourth quarter of 2016 and by 6.9% over the past year, totaling $6.242 billion.

A reminder that Ukraine’s gross external debt was $118.7 billion as of January 1, 2016.
