Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelian has stated this at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“95% of roads are no longer usable and do not meet the standards. As of 2017, 85 thousald kilometers of roads, including 25 thousand kilometers of principal roads, were damaged by potholes. This year we have already transferred UAH 2 billion for patching repairs and liquidated potholes on 6 thousand kilometers of roads,” Omelian said.
Meanwhile, new potholes, totaling about 300 thousand square kilometers, appear every week.
“Major maintenance operations will be launched from late March-early April,” Omelian added.
