Sanctions against Russia should remain in force until full implementation of Minsk agreements - Japanese PM

Sanctions against Russia, which were supported by the Group of Seven countries, must remain in force until the full implementation of the Minsk agreements.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said this at a meeting with Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy on Thursday, the press service of the Verkhovna Rada reports.

"Sanctions against Russia, which were supported by Japan together with other countries of the Group of Seven, cannot be lifted until the full implementation of the Minsk agreements," the Japanese Prime Minister said, discussing the situation in Ukraine in the current conditions of the Russian aggression.

Speaker of Verkhovna Rada Parubiy expressed his gratitude to Japan for its support of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and the system of sanctions against Russia, as well as for its support of reforms and investments in the economy of our country.
