The price of electricity on the wholesale electricity market will drop by 5.7% from March 1, 2017.

Energy and Coal Industry Minister Ihor Nasalyk said this during Government Question Hour meeting held in Parliament, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“From January 1, the wholesale market price [of electricity] has decreased by 10% for the first time in 25 years. From March 1, we’ll reduce it by 5.7% more,” Nasalyk said.

According to him, it will be achieved due to a 13% increase in the share of nuclear generation in the overall production structure.
