Klitschko assures that subway fares will not be increased

Mayor of the capital Vitali Klitschko said this in comments to journalists on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"Today we cannot say that the increase [in subway fare] will happen in the near future," Klitschko said, responding to a reporter's question.

He has noted that the Kyiv government is doing everything to ensure that the underground works effectively.

"If there is an increase in fares, we will announce changes and inform the citizens of Kyiv," the mayor added.
