Wage arrears decreased by more than 10% in Ukraine - State Statistics

In December 2016, total wage arrears in Ukraine decreased by more than 10%, reaching UAH 1.8 billion as of January 1, 2017, the press service of the State Statistics Service reports.

“Total wage arrears in December 2016 decreased by 10.6%, or UAH 213.0 million, and totaled UAH 1,791.0 million as of January 1, 2017,” reads a report.

According to the State Statistics Service, the largest amount of total wage debts in early January 2017 fell on industry (73.7%), transport, warehouses, postal and courier services (9.9%). Over half of debts were formed in Luhansk (23.0%), Donetsk (14.7%) and Kharkiv (12.9%) regions.

Wage arrears at economically active enterprises in December 2016 decreased by 16.0%, or by UAH 212.7 million, and totaled UAH 1,118.2 million as of January 1, 2017.
