In the second half of 2016, Ukrzaliznytsia PJSC increased cargo transportation by 12%, passenger transportation - by 2.8%.
Ukrzaliznytsia PJSC CEO Wojciech Balczun has stated this at a meeting of the Government, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“In the second half of 2016, we transported 181.7 million tonnes of cargo. It is 12% higher than that recorded in the first half, and it is natural for railway transportation,” Balczun said.
According to him, passenger traffic increased by 2.8% and reached 222.5 million people in the second half of 2016.
“We paid UAH 15 billion worth of taxes and mandatory charges and started to work on organizational reforms,” Balczun noted.
