U.S. gives Ukraine $600 mln to strengthen defense capability – Biden

The United States has provided Ukraine with $3 billion of loan guarantees and $750 million in financial aid to support the economy and more than $600 million to strengthen the defense capability.
U.S. Vice President Joe Biden said this at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"In addition to $3 billion of loan guarantees and $750 million in aid, which the United States gave Ukraine to strengthen the economy, the United States has also provided more than $600 million in aid to strengthen security," Biden said.
He stressed that the United States helped to train Ukrainian servicemen, as well as provided a variety of equipment - body armor, radar installations and others.
