The Ukrainian government expects that due to raising minimum wages, the Pension Fund’s deficit will decrease by UAH 10 billion.

Social Policy Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko said this in an interview with TV Channel 5.

“As a result of the minimum wage raise, we expect a UAU 10 billion decrease in the Pension Fund’s deficit. This means that this year's grant of the Pension Fund from the state budget will total about UAH 142 billion, which is by UAH10 billion less than in 2016. And I’m sure that the whole additional resource, which we haven’t yet foreseen in the budget, but which we will get from the legalization of wages, legalization of employment - we will be able to use through a certain pension program,” the minister stated.

Minister Rozenko also called on all employed citizens to assist Government in implementing this task.
