The decision of the National Bank of Ukraine on reducing the maximum amount of daily cash payments between individuals from UAH 150,000 to UAH 50,000 will not affect the interests of ordinary people.

This has been stated by First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv, the Ministry's press service reported.

"The decision will not affect the interests of ordinary people, because more than 90% of daily costs of Ukrainians are less than UAH 50,000. At the same time, we will be able to improve the economy and financial system of Ukraine in order to avoid bank shocks in the future," he said.

As a reminder, from January 4, 2017, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) lowered the maximum amount of daily cash payments between individuals from UAH 150,000 to UAH 50,000, NBU's press service reports referring to a relevant decree No. 407 issued by the NBU Board on November 25, 2016.
