Agrarian Policy Ministry: EU remains to be second largest Ukraine’s partner in agricultural sector

The European Union is the second largest trading partner of Ukraine in the agricultural sector.

This was stated by Deputy Agrarian Policy and Food Minister of Ukraine Olha Trofimtseva during the meeting of First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, Economic Development and Trade Minister of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv with the EU Member States ambassadors to Ukraine and the Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine.

"The European Union is the second largest trading partner of Ukraine in the agricultural sector. The EU’s share in the regional agricultural trade structure is almost 32%," Trofimtseva said.

According to her, more than 78% of foreign investments come in the Ukrainian agricultural sector from the EU countries.

The largest shares of the foreign trade turnover between Ukraine and the EU countries are provided by: Spain – 14.7%, Poland – 14.3%, the Netherlands – 13.9%, Italy – 12.8%, Germany – 10.3%, France – 8.6%, Belgium – 3.2%, the UK – 3.1%, Portugal – 2.7%, Romania – 2.3%, Hungary – 2%, and Greece – almost 2%.
