Direct investments into Ukraine's banking sector made up $2.2 bln in first 9 months of 2016

Over the first nine months of the current year, the total amount of foreign direct investments into the banking sector of Ukraine amounted to $2.2 billion, which resulted from the recapitalization of banks by shareholders, according to an article on DT.UA website.

"According to statistics, over ten months the Ukrainian economy received $3.1 billion in foreign direct investments, which is by 0.9 billion more than last year. However, $2.2 billion of them are investments into the banking sector, which resulted from recapitalization of banks by shareholders. That's why we can say that due to the financial sector, Ukraine received the main inflow of investments into the country,” according to the article.
