NBU cuts discount rate from 15% to 14%

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) from October 28 reduces the discount rate to 14%, NBU Governor Valeria Gontareva has said.
“The NBU Board has taken a decision to reduce the discount rate to 14% per annum from October 28, 2016,” Gontareva said at a press briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
The NBU explains that further alleviation of risks to price stability has enabled the central bank to ease monetary policy further, which is consistent with the need to achieve its inflation targets in 2017-2018.
As a reminder, as of today the discount rate totals 15%.
