India is interested in the development of pharmaceutical industry in Sumy region and plans to expand production there.

Indian Ambassador to Ukraine Manoj Kumar Bharti said this during a visit to Sumy region, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The pharmaceutical industry is now one of the areas, where the cooperation between the two countries has been already set up. In particular, this refers to LLC Kusum Pharm, which is successfully doing business in Sumy region and has been active in the social life of the region. It was the first investment of the Indian companies in Ukraine. The fact that the company plans to expand its production shows that Sumy region has favorable business environment and the state administration promotes this," the diplomat noted.

The Ambassador mentioned agriculture, education and culture among further priority areas of cooperation.
