Ukrainian Economic Development Ministry expects GDP to grow 1% in 2016

Ukrainian GDP growth is expected to reach 1% this year and 3% next year.  

Ukrainian Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister Yulia Kovaliv said this at today’s Cabinet meeting, an Ukrinform correspondent reports. 

"We expect GDP growth of 1% this year and growth of 3% in 2017. It is a so-called baseline scenario. A risk scenario is 1.5%," Kuznetsova said.

She recalled that GDP fell 9.9%.in 2015. "In fact, half of this decline was caused by events in the east, about 1% of the fall was caused by severe restrictions imposed by our former largest trading partner - the Russian Federation," Kuznetsova noted.
