Debt of insolvent banks to NBU makes up about UAH 53 bln

Total debts of insolvent banks to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) is around UAH 53 billion, of which UAH 46.6 billion is the debt on refinancing credits, and UAH 7 billion - on interests, according to NBU Governor Valeria Gontareva.
“The total debt of insolvent banks to the National Bank [on refinancing credits] currently is UAH 53 billion, of which UAH 46.6 billion - on refinancing credits, and UAH 7 billion - on interests,” Gontareva said at a news conference dedicated to the signing of Memorandum on intents for cooperation to build up in Ukraine a transparent and effective system of assets disposal of insolvent banks and banks being liquidated.
A reminder that the National Bank earlier stated that this year the assets disposal of insolvent banks are expected to total UAH 12 billion.
