Offshore companies cannot be removed in Ukraine at legislative level – expert

Executive Director of the Bleyzer Foundation Oleh Ustenko considers that offshore companies cannot be removed in Ukraine at the legislative level but it is possible to set up offshore within the country to create more favorable business climate.
He expressed his opinion in a commentary to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"I have little idea of how to remove offshores in Ukraine at the legislative level. If so, then they should be banned all over the world. The only way to combat offshores is to try to create quality business environment inside the country, this is the primary and main driving force," Ustenko said.
According to him, the hype around the recent offshore scandal was caused by the fact that it involved not just businessmen but also the politicians from all world countries.
