Minister Nasalyk promises to make every effort to cut electricity prices

Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Ihor Nasalyk says the ministry will make maximum efforts to stabilize and reduce electricity prices in the country.

“At present it [electricity] has risen in price, and I will do everything possible so that we can not only stabilize electricity prices, but also consider reducing them,” the minister told journalists, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

A reminder that the minimum electricity tariff for the population was raised by 25% - to 57 kopecks per kWh.

The next rise in electricity tariffs for the population will take place on September 1, 2016.
