EBRD allocates EUR 40 mln for nuclear waste repository

The Government of Ukraine has authorized Ukrainian Ecology and Natural Resources Minister Ostap Semerak to sign the agreement on financing the Chernobyl project.
This is reported by the Cabinet’s press service.
"The Government of Ukraine has authorized Ukrainian Ecology and Natural Resources Minister Ostap Semerak to sign the third agreement on amendments to the grant treaty between the Government of Ukraine and the State Specialized Enterprise 'Chernobyl NPP' as the recipient, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. This is provided for by the order No. 303-p dated April 20, 2016," the statement reads.
As noted, this will enable the EBRD to provide the SSE "Chernobyl NPP” with an additional grant worth EUR 40 million to finance the project on construction of the nuclear waste repository.
