Kvitashvili says Ukraine has enough medicines to treat tuberculosis

This year Ukraine has purchased sufficient amount of medicines to treat tuberculosis, Ukrainian Health Minister Alexander Kvitashvili has said.

“The treatment in Ukraine is free of charge. There are absolutely all the medicines needed for this in Ukraine,” Kvitashvili said at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

He noted that the Health Ministry purchased these medicines through international organizations. "There are huge savings. We have managed to purchase more drugs, then last year," the minister said.

In general, according to Kvitashvili, the international drugs’ purchase is extremely beneficial, because the prices for some medicines could be lower by 57-60%.
