Kyiv taxi drivers protesting against Uber outside city hall

Kyiv taxi drivers have gathered outside Kyiv city hall asking the city authorities to explain their attitude to launching of Uber online taxi service in Kyiv city, Ukrinform reports.
"We abide by the law, there will be no closures of roads. Strike is not our mechanism, but our weapons are public actions without breaking the laws of Ukraine," a representative of Ukrainian taxi organization NGO said.
Moreover, taxi drivers activated their alarm systems in their cars and drive along Khreshchatyk Street without impeding traffic.
