Ukraine can save around UAH 64 bln due to debt restructuring – Jaresko

Ukraine in 2016 can save around UAH 64 billion due to restructuring of foreign debts, Finance Minister Natalie Jaresko has said.

“A saving in 2016 will total around UAH 10 billion only due to the expenditures for serving debts, i.e. paying off interests. And while paying off the main part of debts, a saving in 2016 will total around UAH 54 billion. Thus, due to restructuring, in 2016 we will save UAH 64 billion for the budget,” Jaresko said during an hour of questions to government, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

As a reminder, Ukraine in 2015 announced the settlement of debt restructuring operation that includes a 20% write-down of Eurobonds. The agreement also pushes back redemption dates by four years.
