Ukraine suspends honey export to EU

Ukrinform
Ukraine has suspended the issuance of veterinary documents for the deliveries of honey to the European Union.

This information was confirmed by the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine.

The Service representatives explained that they had to resort to such measures because of the fact that the Czech Republic had found illegal (antimicrobial) agents in the honey of Ukrainian origin.

"To clarify the situation and verify the indicated information, the specialists of the state veterinary service carry out an investigation and take appropriate measures in order to clarify the reasons for obtaining the positive laboratory results on Ukrainian honey by the Czech side," reads the statement.
