Ukratransgaz: Leakage at gas pipeline in Transcarpathia does not affect gas supplies to Ukraine and EU

Depressurization of the main gas pipeline "Soyuz" in the westernmost Transcarpathian region does not threaten the transportation of natural gas to consumers in Ukraine and Europe.

The department of public relations and press at Ukrtransgaz company reports.

"This situation does not affect the transportation of natural gas to consumers in Ukraine and Europe. The section of the pipeline has been localized, the fault has been identified, preparation is under way to repair the pipe," the report says.

Earlier, the head of the Transcarpathian regional state administration Hennady Moskal said outside the village of Horodilove on January 1, 2016 the main pipeline "Soyuz" leaked. It supplies natural gas to the EU countries. The diameter of the pipeline is 1.42 meter.
