Symonenko: No detailed data on Ukraine's benefits from FTA with EU

Ukrinform
KYIV, September 30 /Ukrinform/. Communist Party leader Petro Symonenko claims that supporters of European integration did not make any serious calculations about the benefits for Ukraine from the creation of a free trade area with the European Union.

"However, the European integrators have not yet provided detailed calculations on the benefits for Ukraine from this step," Symonenko wrote, stressing that the opinion of those who believe that the country would benefit from closer relations with the Customs Union is ignored.

He says that with a flow of information about the alleged historical conditionality of the policy of European integration and the creation of a FTA with the European Union, the authors of such judgments name such abstract concepts as "a chance for the modernization of the country", " a high technology base", "European quality of life" and etc.

The Communist Party leader fears for those representatives of industries that see the destructiveness of the opening of the internal market for European goods and the problems that Ukrainian economy will have from the cooling of relations with Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, including due to the expulsion of products manufactured in Ukraine.
